i know there has been some discusion on the availability of thermostat housings for the talbot express ,or lack of them .i am looking for one and cannot seem to find one anywhare . tried the guy at no1 gear ,no joy .also the talbot fiat citroen guys on preloved ,no luck any ideas out there .by the way its not for me ,its a mate of mine that has had his van off the road a couple of weeks .i belive its a 2.5 turbo engine .oil burner .

I assume it's a diesel but even if petrol there shouldn't be a problem if you search for a Citroen C25 item. It might involve getting one from France but there are loads there so will be plenty of spares back up from dealers.

thanks for that . i am going round later today to have a propper look at it see what is realy wrong . i have heared from some owners on here that some of these vans were fitted with renault engines .and if so the part is the same as the safrane engine . .cannot tell untill i have a look . if its broken mabey a repair can be done .as ally will weld ,maybe quicker and cheaper in the long run ,cheers

I repaired an alloy hose outlet on a Peugeot with Techo-Weld and it did a good job. Secret is to pre heat in the house oven before attempting with blowlamp.

I must admit I have never hear of Renault Engines in the Talbot (but of course possible)

You may find also which will help identify the correct part a spares number unde rthe bonnet .......Citroen used a painted 4 digit number Fiat used a number stamped on the bottom of the chassis plate... It might be easier to have a look when you call tound to make identification easier
