This is the pub that "Victor Meldrew" visited....

And here's the spot on the satellite view.. https://maps.google.com/?ll=54.46434,-2.92522&z=17&t=h

It's called the Kirkstone Pass Inn, on the Kirkstone Pass road (A592) that runs from Troutbeck to Patterdale in the Lake District. "The Struggle" is the steep, winding road that goes from the inn down to Ambleside, and isn't too difficult to travel, unless you're Victor Meldrew! I was last there about three weeks ago and it's a great place to visit or spend a couple of nights.

If you view it in Google Earth, you'll see that numerous photo's are available to click on, with various views of the area. :)

Kirk stone inn - was there last week, covered in snow, brilliant.
We stay just 1 mile down the road at the brothers water inn campsite. Badgers on the site t night, you hear them in tents screaming... really funny.
Great area for walking.

No, I've never stayed overnight in that car park, although I wouldn't rule it out, especially if I was spending the evening in the inn. There's a few POI's not too far away, including one on the Struggle itself, plus some other nice spots if you know where to look. :)
