Has anyone done this trip and taken a few days over it?
A couple of questions.
1. Is it heavy going for a motorhome?
2. Are there some good overnight stops which are interesting and not layby's
3. Would you recommend doing it in October/November

Comments really appreciated thank you in advance :)

Yes, been there done it. Great trip.
As for stop overs the Locations App, park for night and just park and your done. I personally like rural lay-bys as long as they are not next to the carriageway, not too narrow and ideally away from busy Truck routes.

Just Park is a fairly blunt tool for motorhomes tbh, but if all else fails you can get a Morrisons car park for about £6-8.00 overnight and they do a good breakfast. If you get into a corner it’s quite enough and you’ve got 24hr security. But you’ll not need it on the A470 route.
