The attitude of some campers

It isn't just MoHo drivers who can be rude and nasty. I pulled into a supermarket car park in my moho with a trailer (10+m total). I was half way in to a double length spot when a woman pulled in to the front bay from the opposite direction. She wanted me to reverse so she could drive to the exit without going round the perimeter which would add 100 yards to her journey. Her language was disgusting. I just switched the engine off, got a coke from the fridge and listened to the radio. She ranted for over 10 minutes before retreating.

A couple of years ago we parked in an empty car park in Folkestone ( after crossing from France) next to a group of shops which were all closed ( Sunday), in our French registered van. We parked sideways on, occupying about 4 or the available 12 spaces. A young lad drove in, window down, and started shouting racist and other obscenities at us while we we in the van. Mrs S got out and challenged him, he obviously thought we were French, and like him, wouldn't understand another language. His face was a picture when he realised we could speak English, and he drove away quickly when I got out of the van to see what his problem was.
Unfortunately, when visiting the U.K. we not only get abused because we drive a motor home, but also because we appear “foreign”
The racist abuse has happened a few times, mostly in Kent, and also on another forum that we no longer frequent.
It’s a shame people find it necessary to act like this. It just shows everybody else what unpleasant people they are.

Mines bigger than yours syndrome. Those Burstner are rather large. We meet a guy in a Carthago in Lymington he had paid for two spaces and filled both of them. One of the topics on the Burstner Facebook page is what car to tow as they are too big to go anywhere.
Might just be me and my mind set, but if you need to tow a car to get around when parked up, you are starting to get into why don’t you just buy a caravan territory 😂

Try speaking with a Belfast tongue in England, not many folk will even answer you, I got spat in the face in Chichester many moons back. :)

If they are towing a car then they are probably illegal.

I had a Burstner 747 (very similar to the Argos), it had a MAM of 5 Ton and a drawbar weight of 750 kg. I now have a Burstner Delfin with a MAM of 4.5 Ton and a drawbar weight of 1,000 kg. Neither big enough to tow a Smart car.

Well Trev you do seem to get it bad and as I read your posts I’m led to believe that N Ireland is one big ghetto. What a picture you paint.
I spent the first 50 yrs of my life and would have to say I’ve never had a problem crossing community lines on a daily basis. Although in your defence you have said you live in Antrim which is a well known dumping ground from the slums of Belfast which all major cities have.
Try living on the mainland so you can form a more balanced opinion.
I just don’t like people slagging off their home country for the sake of it

i am not into the whys & why nots of politics but its right to a certain extent.
no matter where we irish go you will get some people will have something to say or think about you.
it probably happens all over the world.

tony

Well even in the training camps at Windsor we were called daft paddies, but we beat them Blues and royals/household cavalry hands down on everything there turfed at us. :)

Mine is an 8.2 metres Burstner and easily fits in 2 Supermarket bays. It just shows how much tosh gets posted on Facebook. :ROFLMAO:

I have some photos of the van doing just that on an old phone, I might dig them out .... if I can find the phone. :)

Try giving it a ring and it will give its location to find it easily
