The attitude of some campers

a friend whom i believe told us this, he actually witnessed it.
a camper pulled into a car park & asked a car driver to move so he could park there ( he would be taking up several parking bays ).
the car driver refused to move.
the camper driver then abused him & told him to f**k off among other things.
with this sort of carry on it is no wonder campers are not wanted in a lot of places.

How very sad for the car driver refused to move.

It is sad to hear that anyone has abused another person and it sounds like this is a nasty person who also drives a camper. This is never ok!

I would like to comment that there is not a lot of context here. I have just spent 20 minutes driving around a car park on a retail estate trying to park so I could do some shopping. There were at least 50 spaces but everyone seemed to be socially distancing their cars, in the end I waited and someone did move so I could use two bays. IMHO it would be ok for me to ask someone to move up a couple of bays, but if the person refuses that is the end of it, I would never be nasty.

Tony that is not representative of our community.
And I and others on here have had abuse from car drivers.
Frankly I don’t see the point in such a post, all it does is state that a minority of people are moronic idiots, and that some of them drive Motorhomes.

We have to park somewhere !
If 2 spaces lengthways is available I will try those but if they are narrow you risk being stuck as turning is impossible.
Some big carparks have kerbs everywhere so lengthways is not possible. So it means parking across 3or4 car spaces..
I see no problem with this in a car park area dedicated to the shops you are visiting
Maybe I an wrong and so perhaps we should starve instead !

Not the only one. At Linn of Dee a few days ago a guy from an old Pilote was letting his dog run around, someone who had nearly run it over politely suggested he put it on a lead as it was at risk of getting killed…as all the signs say…all he got by way of return was a torrent of abuse.

A very large MH was parked sideways across nearly all the disabled bays at Tesco in Thurso. An old fella on sticks took the only available disabled space, this blocked in the MH. The MH driver was so abusive and nasty to the old gent that I had to stick my nose in. He then went into full rant mode, when he finished I did my standard reply of ‘ooooooo’. His wife was p*****g herself laughing,
There was loads of room in the car park, it just meant that he’d have further to walk. Being a big fat ignorant slob, I guess he wasn’t much into walking.

Mines bigger than yours syndrome. Those Burstner are rather large. We meet a guy in a Carthago in Lymington he had paid for two spaces and filled both of them. One of the topics on the Burstner Facebook page is what car to tow as they are too big to go anywhere.

It's always a lottery when we hit a supermarket on our travels. If lucky we can get into 4 spaces in a rectangle, if not it's 5-6 spaces side on. I always look at the furthest part of the car park away from the entrance and this usually does the trick. If nothing is available then we have to try and park as near to the supermarket as possible outside of the car park. I can recall parking near the lorry entrance ones as there was oodles of room.

Its never an occasion for verbal abuse though.

My van is 7.8mtrs long and I have no problem getting it lengthways in two bays, normal Aldi spaces are okay width ways at all the ones I have gone to. Mine is a low profile coachbuilt and if cars are parked blocking hab door I load shopping through passenger cab door. May be different for an A class as they are the same width all the way along.
Random pics of motorhomes parked across bays don’t mean much, the owner may have asked and been told to park like that, I have seen this at some pubs and businesses.
If I can’t get two bays in line I will wait a little if I can without blocking or I will drive on and try the next place I come to.

Have you noticed car bays are the same size as when folk were driving a Austin seven, cars are like tanks these days and my van fills the bays from line to line so heaven help someone next to me trying to get into their car to drive out.
Why cannot all parking places have 2/3 bays for a bus or campervan these days.

Mine is an 8.2 metres Burstner and easily fits in 2 Supermarket bays. It just shows how much tosh gets posted on Facebook. :ROFLMAO:

I have some photos of the van doing just that on an old phone, I might dig them out .... if I can find the phone. :)
