some people are a bit prickly though,i suppose i better start using smilies but i don't like them. feels a bit like american humour where they tell a joke,then explain why its funny with canned laughter in the background in case you're still not sure whether to laugh or not.i'll try

Dear landy driver (or is it ladydriver? my eyesight's not as good as it once was)

I think you have hit the nail on the head with your reference to Forum size. This is a decent sized forum & thus nice & active. There are other MH (& Boaty forums) that are much smaller & dominated by a handful of regular contributors - some are really friendly & some are utterly parochial & anti-new members, it's all down to the contributors. In a bigger, more active forum there is a bigger risk of oafs & bullies - so it goes.

By & large it's the best free MH forum I have found - I can't comment on paid membership fora I won't join them!

It's an internet forum & as such, may contain nuts.
