There are three options:

1) no thank you or like button.

2) the thank you button system we used to have.

3) a like button, which if user WANT to link to their facebook accounts will post that they like it on their facebook page. However you can use the like button without evan having a facebook account. This will not show the amount of likes by peoples names.

Definitely want NOTHING to do with Facebook, myspace, Twatter et al.

It was because Nuke wanted to link MHF with them that I left.

Tco.

If there was a 'thanks ' button i would have just used it ! ....facebook causes more hassle in my household with the kids than anything else ....

Thank you button

This was the only site with a 'thank you button' on it.
It did give you a good feeling, a token of friendship, so seldom to find nowadays,
Keep the button, please

I would prefer the thank you button please if that's no trouble :D

I like the thank you button as before.

Please no links to facebook!

Personally I don't like 'thank you' buttons, but if there has to be one can I make a plea for it to be used only to thank someone for genuinely useful information.

It seemed to me that in the past it was often used just to say 'I agree'.
