TELECO Satellite Mast LEAKING OIL!!!

Has anyone had this condition where the you find oil dripping from the yellow crank end of the manual satellite dish mast? If so can you tell me if this is a self servicable maintenance issue.

Thanks!

I have sent a note to TELECO regarding this problem but no reply. 2 weeks now.

Any takers?

I believe it should be grease in the winding gear,
maybe heat from the sun has partly melted the grease
I had a big (3m) sat dish in my garden and that's what happened to mine
just take apart and repack with a high melting point grease
hope this helps

Taking Apart the Elevator Gear Housing...

Sounds like a tip! but... taking apart the elevator gear housing? A/K/A the "Knuckle"? What springs and wing-dings await to pop out and spread all over the Motorcaravan roof? I wish I had a exploded view or some kind of diagrammatic guidance! I am capable of turning the nuts and bolts, even exploring the guts of the Knuckle, but my confidence in a successful joint clean-up and refurbish is questionable without a plan.

Obviously TELECO is not comin'-a-ride'in to the rescue; anyone know where to get schematics of their Knuckle assemblies?
