Tar Spot Removal

Hi oh knowledgable ones.

Question about black spot tar removal.

What do others do and use to remove tar splashes from the bodywork, cab and motorhome body?

Have looked at Auto Glym and farecla Clay Mitt. have also read that some folk use WD40 and or Petrol to remove it?

Advise or suggestions would be greatly required.

coconut oil got beach tar off my feet very easily, don't know if that's worth a try?
 
The classic is "TARDIS" by Autosmart. I have also used G101, again by Autosmart. (usually one or other will work).

I use WD40 does the job with no effort plus cheaper than auto glyn
 
I just use petrol on a rag, but that's probably too simple so maybe I'm using the wrong product. Works for me
 
Wd 40 will remove it,but an expensive way, plenty tar and glue products out there that all work well or as all ready mentioned petrol works well
 
I was going to mention about the paint .... Petrol works really well to remove tar spots. So does a kitchen scourer for that matter. Neither will be used on my paintwork thank you very much.


as an clue, have a look at some cars where people have been careless when filling their tanks and the state of the paintwork below the cap/flap.
 
Wd40 has always done the job for me, it doesn’t use much and always good to have a tin to 🖐

There will always be owners who don't give a toss.
Also have a look at the 1000s that have gleaming paintwork. I guess they must have the most careful of owners that have never spilt a drop of petrol on the paintwork.

and don't use petrol to clean their cars as well :cool1:

I dont think i have ever washed a car in my life,but i do waxol & other products them to stop rust,washing wont,its a english thing im told,the sunday car wash.
 
Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover.

It's also very good at removing the gluey marks left after removing decals.
