Hi Guys.

Sorry its been a while since my last post :) been a little busy...

Anyway... it might be a little off the wild camping topic, but I regularly visit a site in Maythorne, southwell, Nottinghamshire, and I can never get my hose pipe attachment\quick release part fit onto the brass tap that is in the field.

Any idea what I can do? ive been wrapping it in a towel and screwing it on best i can, but the threads just dont match,
I have searched the internet and ebay and they all seem to be the same.

Thanks for any help in advance

Cheers

Is it that the threads don't match or that the diameters are different?
I have for many years had a threaded connector for taps plus an adapter to enable connection to taps with a different diameter (occasionally used in French marinas) but subsequently had to buy another much smaller diameter connector for the taps found on a few aires in France.
So different diameter connectors are certainly available; don't know about different pitch of thread though.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply,

I think its the treads don't match, The adapter i have almost fits the tap, but it feels like it is "cross threaded". the diameter seems to be the same...

think you might find gardina do a different thread to others .
i have come across this sort of thing years ago . i cant remember exactly but i,m sure gardina was the answer.
i also found in spain they very often use one alot bigger than the inch version . i found one in a pound shop type store in spain .
the water connections at la linea on the mud carpark use it . or did .

Hi,

As the other guys say if you try a garden shop you should get a couple of sizes of threads, metric and imperial but the snap on's are much the same, I have two size's and used them all over Europe for the last four years and had no problems.
I also take a push on rubber tapered connector that came with a short filler camper style hose and had no trouble so far.
I also take a 10 litre plastic watering can and tend to use it as it can be just as quick as the hose pipe and some hose pipes on Aires and sites are left on the ground and you never know the health standards of the last user, many taps have a metal bar across them to stop people pushing the emptying spouts of their toilet casette directly onto the taps, I have seen it done many times. Good luck.
