If you have a T5 conversion still under warranty, Volkswagen have issued a new heater control. This is to the selector knob for direction into van or to windscreen.
The original rotated 360 degrees in either direction and could jam or be stiff to operate when rotated to the right; in worst cases, the control can shear.
The new part rotates through 270 degrees only and avoids the problem cable movement under the dashboard. My dealer quoted 90 minutes for the job and it was certainly done in that time.
Contact your dealer, complain about a jamming control and ask for a replacement under warranty.
