Hey all - could someone please help me with some advice.
We've been having some issues with our VW T4 Dashboard/speedo. I'm aware this is a common issue in these vans, and often only requires resoldering. Unfortunately, having taken it to a garage 2/3 times, and them resoldering, the issue persists. After 5 or 6 hours of driving, I go to start the van up again in the morning and the speedo, engine temp, and rev counter are all out of kilter again, and aren't reading properly.
My questions for all of you knowledgeable people is:
1. Is it a case that the speedo is now knackered, and I need a new one?
2. Or is it a case that the garage isn't soldering it right?
3. Could there be another issue? Moisture getting to the electrics that means it keeps malfunctioning?
4. Where can I source a new dashboard/speedo. And is it expensive?
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated, my next trip is up to Scotland in June, but need to get this fixed beforehand!
