Swedish and Norwegian sausages ?

Minor surfing shows they are available in both countries.
Mainly smoked thus ready to eat. But can cook as well ?
This is good
Are there any that you can fry (or roast in the ridge monkey).
I note Swedish cuisine offers sausage strogonoff which is good.
Fresh sausage to cook would be a great easy meal.
Suneye and Kallieviken probably know most !

Do they sell quorn sausages ?
 
Stewed sausage and potatoes considered a delicacy round these parts. They even used to stick them in pies here think it stems from the days when beef was expensive so butchers started compensating some of the beef for sausage.
 
If my memory serves me correctly then boiling sausage is quite popular, usually pork and served with boiled potatoes, I also seem to recall seeing game sausage i.e reindeer for sale. If you would like a definitive answer I have relatives in Sweden and Norway who I could ask.
 
When we lived in Norway many years back it was illegal to bring meat products in from overseas so most business trips back to UK involved an element of smuggling the good old British banger back to Norway as we could buy nothing like them over there. What always puzzled me was that a successful smuggling trip seemed to involve holding a good old banger party back in Norway with all the expats attending. I just kept quiet and kept all my smuggled bangers for my own family’s consumption!

I had one of the Veggie Hotdogs from IKEA a couple of weeks ago. I have to say it was not the most pleasant of experiences :(

I didn't know your or Nida were vegetarians? (assuming that as you asked about Quorn). That would make the hunt for local sausage delicacies a bit trickier I would think?
FWIW, as far as the UK goes, by far the best veggie sausage we have found has actually been the Richmond Meat-free sausage (cue joke on how they all are anyway). Tried a lot of alternatives from different brands and that has proven (to us, anyway), to be the nicest one - and is much nicer than their regular pork sausage from what I can remember.
Off-topic for sausages, but staying on the Swedish aspect for food and vegetarians, there is a Swedish brand of vegetarian products are are REALLY nice - Oumph! - which is worth checking out. In the UK, Morrisons, Iceland and ASDA stock it. Apparently 1 in 5 Swedes are Vegetarian or Vegan, so should be pretty easy to find suitable nice food.
 
What's happened to British made Savaloys? They are very bland these days. The last decent ones I had were bought off a stall in Ashbourne Market a good few years ago.

Thanks David. No not veggies just like to have a meat free meal maybe once a week.
So quorn sausages or mince or a veggie (Thai) curry.
Green curry with cauliflower et al.
Or a vegetable "monkey" pie.
Chilli non carne.
 
Since we’re banging on about bangers, the Linda McCartney plain ones are dead bland and attain new levels of blandness. However, the rosemary and onion ones are ok.

Concur 100%.

They're pretty tasty for a pretend sausage.
COSTCO stock big bags of them, handy for sticking in the freezer (y)
