Hi, Thinking of visiting this weekend, have emailed the Pub to see if its OK, has anyone been lately ?

I wouldn't bother when there is a very good layby just a few miles south on the west shore,
Second one down from pooley,

The pub is perfect if you like a pint or three lol !

Now I didn't think of that being teetotal and all:tongue:
But the wife likes wine:dance: and always takes her own,
So very rarely go to a pub,

Hi, I stopped off here in the Spring, went in and asked the landlord who was happy for me to stay as long as I parked in the far corner of the car park.
I had a meal in the pub and a couple of beers no problem, move off next morning.
What I did find annoying was the fact that both public car parks on either side of the bridge were completely empty at 18:30 and would make ideal spots to overnight had it not been for the signs prohibiting us from doing so. Local Authorities short sighted views I suppose.

Winter Pub Stops only

We visited the Sun Inn last night and enjoyed a good meal and drinks with great hospitality. We emailed the day before to make sure that overnight parking was still permitted and got the following response from Jane, the landlady:
"Thank you for your enquiry.
We will accommodate you on this occasion due to it being a quiet part of the year. Unfortunately in the summer we have to say no.
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening.
Regards
Jane"

So your good enough when they need the money :)

Not been for a few years but they were always accomodating. The Pooley Bridge inn over the road has a bigger quieter car park though and when I last stayed the owner even had Camper vans welcome on the side of his van. I think however it changed hands a few years ago so it may not be the case now but you might want to check with them also.

I would have been tempted to reply "on this occasion I will give you a miss"
