Stuck out with full cassettes ?

We were in Bakewell and the one we would use normally, were locked completely including the Radar one , the key worked but it was also deadlocked.
i have just had prostate operation an have problems now with retention and pain. So cannot go out without the motorhome with the loo in it. the other one was timelocked automatically until 10.30 and then it accepted the 20p to open, for some reason it was about some dick heads idea for social distancing. Nobody was near me as the playing field was deserted, just a buggeration to me, I was in pain and rather angry about it having to wait 15 minutes because of a bottom kneddy in the council having his input.

Times are changing :(

even some canals have the facilities we need

Public toilets are open in Wales and we are always pretty amazed by how many there are dotted around and also how good many of them are (even hot water in some).

I always take a list of their addresses, if we are out and about in any particular county just in case we are caught short. If you have wifi most council websites have a section listing public toilets and whether they are open or not.

As many are aware I am not pro establishment but in this case I have some sympathy for councils. Many public loos are restricted or closed due to damage and misuse by the idiots within our society, not only physical damage which costs loads to repair but Councils are also nervous/scared of injuries taking place within their property, needles and children being an extreme but possibly incident. Truth be told, if loos weren't abused more would be accessible

Many loos used to have toilet attendants way back.

🤐

I was passing through Bury in Lancashire a couple of weeks ago and phoned the Caravan Club to ask if I could empty our cassette at their site at the Burrs if we paid a fee? They told me I would have to book and pay for a pitch for one night to get access to any facilities. They also said it would be the same at any other Caravan Club site.

How Ridiculous 😡🤬
Phone- Ok 👍
Book a slot- Ok 👍
Pay a small fee- Of course 😊👍
But to ask for a nights Pitch fee is a bit ‘unreasonable’ in my eyes ☹️

And I bet he spoke with a nasal twang?

Further to this thread, I was thinking: wouldn't it be a good idea if there was a badge of some description that you could fix to the front of your house/gate/fence etc, which could be identified by MHers only, so that if they were in dire need/emergency on board, they would be welcome to knock on your door and ask for help. Even if it was to use a drill or some gaffer tape or indeed empty their cassette down your sewer or wanted a couple of paracetamol or any small scale thing like that? A kind of MH community self help scheme if you will.

I'm not talking major stuff but even then if one is knowledgeable about MHs which many of us/you lot are, then a problem might be fixed there and then.

The badge could just have a picture of a MH on it without any words or explanation. It'd need to be plastic to survive the weather I guess.

Mind you in our village there are 2 MH owners: I'm quite amenable but the other guy who owns is a right tosser, so I'd not knock on his door! :D

I'd knock his door just for 'shits n giggles'
😅😅

Then you could have just used the dump point at the showground!
Went there first and the toilets were bolted , there was a lorry dump point, but was scared to use it as it had been cleaned and I was not sure it was actually dump point.

It's not so obvious but is just at side of road on first bend in.
