Well that was a storm in a teacup we brought the portable solar in and shut the doors waiting for the storm
From hell( ok Portugal) and nothing happened don’t know if we were just sheltered or if it blew out before it reached us.

We are here for the next couple of weeks not sure how mobile you are and if you need anything doing ,
I’m quite handy with a drill/ spanner spade just reach out if you need anything doing, Andy

There's no fun if your house is damaged, no power or Internet,
Crops lost, leading to food shortages.

I’m still mobile but thank you for your offer, I could do with a haircut though, what are you like with a pair of scissors?

it’s beyond comprehension terry the local council have reported that the. flood waters in pomarao on the portugal spanish border have receded 5 meters town is still flooded but it’s gone down 16 feet although 20 miles away from the coast there are 4 dams above and below that have to release water to ease pressure at 80% capacity add to that the river is tidal and normally raises and lowers a meter on each bore a recipe for disaster , as i posted on the other forum a cafe restaurant we all use normally about 15ft above river level was completely submerged

Brutal Ken. April 24 when at B's mum near Poitiers. Easter weekend we had to call in the Pompier pump out rainwater from house basement. House above was fine, thankfully, but the basement filling up was an eye opener. After first pump out, I managed to create primitive dam to contain water within basement cave (wine store) we had to fend by ourselves as Pompier are retained and were busy busy attending other flooded homes.

What has been happening around Spain/Portugal/Morocco, is worrying for what the future holds with climate change?

Heading for Spain in a week or so , hope things are improving .
Have travelled down to Spain in January a couple of times in the past . Always had decent weather.
Real shame for those who've been there last few weeks

We had the first lovely day we have had for 2 weeks down on the south coast of Spain (east of Almeria). The forecast looks good until at least the end of the week: low 20's, sunny and light breezes.

I'm hopeful that Storm. Marta was sensationalised by the media.. We were all going to die, ooh er!

It won't improve conditions up north, still suffering from the last Storms.

We now have a new storm Oriana..."not going to affect mainland Portugal" but don't think anyone told it....hailstorms,torrential rain and high winds....then sunshine briefly, just to tease us!
(Still no electric or hope of it!)

We now have electricity...workers arrived at 5.30pm on Sunday and connected us by 8pm! They certainly are earning their money
