stopped in France

If you drive into any VOSA check site with a weighbridge and ask us nicely we'll weigh it foc and give you an official weighbridge ticket that you can carry in the vehicle.

Is there anywhere where a list of these sites is published and are they open any day or only when spot checks are being undertaken.

I went into a Kent CC site at Dover (Whitfield) behind TESCO. They weighed the vehicle and told us the weights but no ticket.

Thank Alan
It was the VOSA sites that interested me. You can go online and get weighbridges as you said. Trading Standards also list sites in their area.

I'm not sure of the advantage of getting a printed weighbridge ticket.

It's useful, some would say essential, that you check the weight of your motorhome so that you can load it correctly, but if you are stopped for a weight check the VOSA inspector isn't going to take any notice of a weighbridge ticket, even if it was obtained only the day before.

i agre with andy . the weight changes so much as we use the m,home put things in take them out . but extra beer etc its a good idea to get it weighed if you can with your full kit . then make a note . hopefully you have plenty surplus .i doubt it on 3,500kg vans .i have a huge payload but it can soon disapear about 3 ton .but can increase it to just under 5ton if i use my class one part of licence. believe me i carry lots .but be careful . i have always thoought a m,home needs to be based on at least a 5ton chassis cheers alan.
