Hi all can you keep a lookout for my motorhome. It was stolen off my drive in Wakefield. But I had filled it up for this weekend so has a 509radius.
Thanks Brendan

I’d be listing/showing anything that makes it stand out I.e. damage, stickers on back anything that might just make anyone’s mind recall it.

If it was nicked in day light look for traveller sites nearby (don’t go in even if you can see it)

I’d also be getting around car parks, cinemas, supermarkets, leisure centres etc they often leave them and keep an eye on them in case of a tracker. One got nicked last year in Wellingborough and the owner did this and found not only his but another parked alongside it, they were in a large lay-by and parked as if wild camping apparently.

Sorry you're going through this. Have you thought of posting on Face Book? I know a lot of people denigrate it but I have heard of it being useful in your situation. There are a lot of Motorhome forums on there with a share facility across the country. Might be worth a punt. Hope you get your home on wheels back.

Hi all thanks for the info. It have two large ENSO stickers one on the bonnet one on the rear.
It’s on a couple of classic car sites it’s all over face book all my mates have sheared it.
Drove all over as have mates it will be parked up to see if the police attend.
Wouldn’t mind just had it mot serviced and timing belt replaced and drove it Saturday for a shake down and brimmed the tank. 11 hundred down the drain.

Hope you get it back with not too much damage. However, the sad reality is, the police don't give a crap and the best you can hope for is a reasonable pay out on the insurance. Good luck with that one too.:(

Sorry to be so negative but there is no point in 'gilding the lily' when most know the reality of your situation.

If you get another mh, do everything you can to make if steal proof, come back on here for good advice. There's peeps on here with decades of experience and knowledge of such things.

Good luck and I hope you prove me wrong.

I’ve resign my self that am not getting it back. I know al not get the full market value. Would any one be able to tell me the value. Full service history and 14k on the clock. One owner.
But next time am going to get a caravan but it will have to be second hand.

Dealer price about £40k - $45k depending where you go. Insurance offer about £30k.

Read up on caravan security 'cos the travellers are still partial to them, although MH's are becoming more attractive these days.

I feel sorry for you mate, it's a bummer having a vehicle nicked. I've had a car, a van and a motorbike nicked and it gut wrenching. Taught me a lesson when I got into MHing, that's for sure.

It's a sad world we live in Ral when the criminals get away with a slap on the wrist IF they are caught yet the victim will be punished for years with higher premiums and of course the fear that it may well happen again.

Think , for me , the fact that your motorhome is often your home makes it worse

Time for many to think about extra security, pedal lock, road wheel clamp, fuel cut of switch, tracker, alarm etc.

The problem is Trev that the thieves are wise to most of these security systems and can come equipped to get round them. I never believed in off-the-shelf solutions and made up my own security measures. Trackers are a good solution but not infallible as the thieves can wreck the van while searching for it. :(

Yes they come with angle grinders these days Jim.

They don't care if you go out to challenge them, somebody I know did this and they told him to go back in the house and call the Police otherwise he would get hurt very badly. They know full well that the Police won't attend.

Unfortunately Rob that is true.
I also know someone who was having a catalytic converter removed whilst parked on their drive by three guys wearing balaclavas.
One under the jacked up car with an angle grinder the other two wielding baseball bats, same thing, go back indoors or else.

The Catalytic Converter got nicked off of my old Sprinter Tim. Cost me over £3k to replace it and I believe they get about £40 scrap value.

Somehow we didn't hear it happening but we were one of many places that got hit that night. They did get caught, it was an Eastern European gang who had been caught before according to the Police but the fact that they got caught didn't get me any money back. :(

I lift the van on the levelling system, remove a wheel and replace it with a hub stand, wheel goes in the workshop and my works van is reversed against the workshop door, motorhome and workshop covered by cctv that sends an alarm to my phone is anyone enters the drive. Security lights also cover the drive. Then there’s a steering lock and the near side rear wheel has a sleeper in front of it, it’s against a wall and you can only get to the sleeper is when the motorhome is lifted by the levelling system which has the fuse removed.

All else fails I’ve got a 12 bore.
