For all those who desperately wanted Splitty's oatcake recipe at the Astbury Meet.
He told me that the Hairy Bikers were the only ones who got the true recipe right, so here is a link.
He also said he would post the recipe, but I think he has enough to do so I hope he doesn't mind me doing it on his behalf.

Best ones are in my town-Cheadle staffs (cross street) only open in mornings.
 
I lived in North Staffs for a few years - first in Kidsgrove and then in Cheadle. I used to love oatcakes, with cheese or just about anything. I even found they made a good substitute for chapatis with a curry!

Sorry Sharon, I completely forgot about this so I don't mind at all, thank you for posting it. I've double checked and the Harry Bikerers are still the only ones who've got the recipe right. My only criticism would be their take on the filling, mushrooms are fine if you cook them in a little butter but not in olive oil, that's just wrong, this is Stoke not bloody Sorrento.
