Squeaky brakes

From looking at a few Googles I think this might not be too unusual:

Just done 10,000 miles in our Ducato based van and I’ve noticed the brakes have started to squeak sometimes... only under gentle braking and at low speed (5mph or less). Work fine.

Standard Ducato behaviour?

This kind of problem can be because of a build of glaze on the discs, one of the best cures is to do some quite heavy braking.

Rears are also a bugger for not freeing off completely and just dragging enough to make a noise....
Gentle application of the handbrake whilst moving slowly will confirm if it's fronts or rears.

Seriously though, a bit of hard braking tends to clear off the glaze caused by to much gentle brake work. I realise that you may have all the contents of the 'van in the cab with you, but it does work, and you can always tidy up later

Well, I’m such a careful driver that I barely use the brakes :drive:..... so that must be it!
