Does anyone know if you are required to have the 80/90 stickers on a trailer?

I believe that if any stickers were required, then they would need to be as per the country of origin and if a UK registered vehicle they would need to be in MPH and not KPH

If a vehicle towing a trailer is over 3500kg in France the trailer needs the 80 and 90 round stickers. The vehicle shoud display 80, 90 and 100 stickers.

Sea France had people inspecting trailers before boarding last year and advising them of this.

From the Automobile Club de France:

The stickers must have a minimum size of 15cm (6") in diameter

The speed limit (in km/h) must be written in black numbers, on a white background, The stickers can be glued, attached or painted on the bodywork.

NOTE: FRANCE : THESE STICKERS ARE NOT MANDATORY IN FRANCE BUT THE CARAVAN CLUB RECOMMENDS THAT THEY ARE FITTED, THE SPEED LIMITS ARE MANDATORY AND DO APPLY, TO BE SAFE AND SURE YOU WILL NOT GET A FINE USE THE STICKERS.

International Stickers 80/90kph GB etc apply to the rear near/side of your vehicle. [THIS BECOMES THE OFF/SIDE WHEN DRIVING ON THE RIGHT]

The sticker mentioning the lowest speed must be put in the left bottom of the back of the vehicle. If several stickers are necessary, the sticker with the highest speed must be put to the right side of the other stickers (if horizontally aligned) or above the other stickers (if vertically aligned).

I have them fitted to the Motorhome and trailer and have had no problems from HGVs in Spain or France trying to hassle me along. I do go very slow up hills at times.
