Spare wheel

Good thread.
Where do I find some one who sells a rear door spare wheel holder? I've seen them when I have been over taken on the motorway.
I made mine which also carries 2 jerry cans if i wish, not a door unit but one would be easy to make

I have a SunLiving Lido S42DF and I’m thinking of getting a spare wheel and tyre.

Question is will it be too heavy to fit in the side locker under the bed? The only other place to store it is in the centre of the van under the table.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I used to have mine on the roof but just built this a little while ago.

Looks very smart. Not for me though, I had a spare stolen from underneath my last motorhome. Prefer to keep out of sight.

We used to just take a spare tyre, saves weight, more flexible in terms of storage, and if the puncture/blow out isn't fixable with squirty repair goo, then you've still got a solution for the roadside repair garage.

or just pack a can of lighter fluid !

Please tell me how you get to a tyre depo to fix if you have no spair, please dont say recovery, that would take all day here, i have always said if you cannot change a wheel or do light work on van/car like dip oil and genaral checks you should not be driving, after all pilots do a walk around before a flight.
Totally agree. I always carry a spare. Also, lots of places still with no phone signal, especially up in the mountains. Recovery is not going to help you there. I always carry a jack, some blocks, breaker bar with appropriate socket and torque wrench.

Oh dear, that's unlucky. Had mine under there for 10 years without a problem. But in order to remove it you have to jack up the motorhome too
