Spanish tolls - good news!

Vera to Alicante on Tuesday morning. Still had to pay tolls on the AP7. Was thinking of using the E15 and A7 but the weather rain was the worst I have ever experienced so decided to use the lorry free and traffic free toll motorway as form of accident insurance.

On the coastal road prior to joining the motorway deep flooding and stream torrents running across the road. There had been a landslip closing part of tne coastal road we normally take so had to take an inland detour prior to rejoining the coastal road. Could not see vehicle in front so proceeded with caution with hazard warning lights on. Wild campers had to move as the ground was saturated with a risk of being bogged down.

Was relieved to join the motorway and even more relieved not to be using the busy E15. When we linked up with the A7 near San Javier noted 5 police cars charging south in the opposite direction so clearly something had happened.

There are occasions when it pays to use a toll motorway!

Indeed ,and if heading for laz Azohia taking the toll road south of Cartagena saves a shed load of mileage , diesel and time for a few euros.
