Hi,
My name is Margie. My husband Alan, and I hope to live full-time in a motorhome from early next year.
Al is due to retire in April and we have decided to take the plunge and do something we have talked about doing for many years, which is to sell our home, swap from a caravan to a motorhome and live in it full time traveling wherever the fancy takes us.
We are so looking forward to it, counting the days until his retirement now.
We hope we can make connections in this community and maybe make some new friends as we go.

Hi and welcome from Wigan!

Hi Margie and Alan , welcome from a pair of travellers with nearly seven years under our belts full time ,
Br##it is very restricting unless you are prepared to do morrocco or further afield to extend your 90 day schengen shuffle, one problem full timers suffer is the maintenance of the vehicle , where do you go when not if it breaks down , we have bought a low mileage ducato van and just spent over a thousand pounds getting cam belt and full service for the thing to break down after driving a mile, be prepared to sleep in summer houses and peoples floors , happy travels and becoming full members will give you a wealth of knowledge on here and the sister sites

Hi and we did the same last year. There is a growing community of full timers both young and older who are very helpful. We are just about to finish our first season as campsite wardens . We have some travels lined up for our 6 months off! As mentioned if the van breaks down then have a plan is place . We would just go to the in laws until it was fixed. It is a real change of pace and don’t feel you need to visit everywhere quickly. The beauty is take your time and travel slow. A few full timers I know are heading south for the winter or getting winter pitches sorted out now. It is a great lifestyle change.Embrace it and don’t sweat the small stuff. Dave

There is a reserve list but get your name down for our norwegian gathering next summer, it was janet and i’s first long stay destination

Hello from a fellow full timer 😊 wish I had done it ten years ago. Just making it up/winging it each day. Lots of amazing helpful people on this site when you get stuck 👌🏻

Very brave and I hope it goes well. I assume you have sorted all the legal stuff, ie: you do need a UK address for lots of legal issues. Abroad is easier than UK shame about the 90 days, but it seems there are ways around that.
