somthing missing?

'bought by those who didn't know' ... and every manufacturer of aircraft bowsers... they also have a bonding lead to connect bowser to aircraft before you take the cap off. Car sickness aka motion sickness is caused by... motion. Not static. Aircraft instruments aren't affected by static buildup in flight as the charge is on the outside (same way a/c can be struck by lightning and survive) ,the problem arises when you land and step out with a massive charge built up. Watch carefully next time you see a helicopter rescue on TV - you'll see a dangly string below the winch guy to earth it so he doesn't get zapped senseless.

Hmm... perhaps you've never operated with underslung loads? I always made damn sure I used the earthing rod before touching the net or the hook, having seen a colleague thrown across the deck and almost into the S Atlantic when a wet cord on the load zapped him. No, I've never been shocked getting out of a helicopter on the ground- the undercarriage will usually dissipate the static, though if it was in the hover I always jumped...
Motion sickness? ...caused by motion. :lol-053:

Got to own up to having been a professional plane spotter... :lol-053:
