I don't trust any of the quoted figure for a used van as things can change easily in used land.

I laid a piece of wood on the roof and measured to the ground, added anything that stood above the roof and added 25mm to that, it came out at 2.9m

Ill just measure it with a tape measure if I can get it to clip onto the top of the luton from the ground. Its important as it will make a massive difference in France on toll roads if over 3m in height.

I used to have a little flag on an antenna on my boats Barry set at the same level as the roof. That way I knew that if the flag went under a bridge the rest of the boat would.

I strongly suggest you do similar on the front of your motorhome bonnet, it won't look silly honestly.
