Hi, I have a thin solar panel on my Bongo and a Mt50
Not really sure if it is charging properly as the MT50 is showing a moon symbol and it is broad day light. Can anybody help my work out why this moon is on and not showing any charging.

It possible the controller is not getting power from the panels so thinks it's night time. Have you checked the wiring, you could put a multimeter on the positive and negative from the panels where they go into the controller first to see what your getting.

yep that's the place to start on a sunny mid day you should get around 20 volts,, flexible panels are prone to early failure,,:mad1:

If you have the flexi panel then as the above poster has said it's probably failed. I've changed flexi panels twice on the same van. The seller did replace them mind after a year of having them. They told me that they overheat on metal roof vans and are better suited to fibreglass roofs, boats etc.
I had one on my old VW van for many years with no problems and that was a fibreglass roof.
Now I have the rigid panels and no problems.

That’s good to know I’ve just put two stick on panels and roof is fibreglass just to connect them up👍

Is this a new installation that has never worked, or an existing one that appears to have failed.

Installed by ????

Do you have a multimeter?
Checked on top to make sure the panels aren't damaged>

It was installed 3 years ago by Roger Donoghue from Solar camper solutions.
I had it checked today and the panel has failed.so that answers that. Thanks for all the advice....much apreciated.
