Solar panel Autocruise Rhythm

Just finished putting an 100watt solar panel on the van I must admit manufacturers don’t make it easy to take vans apart the bit that I thought would be difficult was easy and the easy bit was difficult but I guess that’s life it’s now charging through the Sargent unit and I have put the mains lead back in the garage can’t wait to get away again once we are allowed

Thanks I was going to bond it to the roof but ended up drilling it and bolting it with m8 Allen bolts and lock nuts very happy with it we were up in Scotland before lockdown and we had lights heating etc running and volts were getting a bit low so it was a new leisure battery and now the panel the vans never been so good since lockdown even benn underneath and underbody Shultz it

We haven’t bothered up to now as we tend to move every day so the leisure battery gets a charge but due to having the time and the low cost now I decided to fit it we have hade motor homes with solar auto levelling jacks and auto satellites so when we went down to a pvc I decided not to bother with the extra equipment we have had far more use from the panel van than what we ever had from the tag axle he’ll of a downsize originally 8.6 metres and an Aygo to a 6 meter van
 
Buckby I have an Autocruise Rhythm and just ordered a 100w kit and connector for the Sargent unit. Would you mind sharing the route you took for the cable and what panels you took off / how. I was thinking of drilling though into the wardrobe then passing through rear of fridge then going through floor.
 
If it were me 200w every time min,remember after mid day you will be very very lucky to get 1/3 of total output and 3 mths in the year nout.
 
The Sargent control panel is only rated at 100w, it automatically charges van or leisure battery so I thought I would use that feature. I guess I could add another 100W direct to the leisure battery later... but could do with ideas on cable routing.
 
Hi I'm installing a Solar Panel to my Autocruise Stardream it says solar panel ready there's two wires at the rear of the EMS panel can you please tell me if the solar panel goes directly on two these wires or does it need another controller?

Cannot wire direct, but can use a mppt regulator, im not one for all in one box.
 
Our Cargago came with the wiring already installed for solar panels. I have been looking on and off since last July for the cable to the battery. Had various suggestions from Southdowns as to where it might be so had another look today under the floor with mu enderscope camera. Well I now know where it is. Massive thick cable. Certainly will not get a voltage drop just need to extend it to reach the battery. I was not going yo bother with solar this time but SWMBO has been finding some sites without EHU so looks like we may need some.

Stick a pole mount on the back and a small wind generator. Trouble is you cannot leave it in situe while on the move. They can also b a bit noisy
 
I had an issue with the Sargent unit as it was only charging the van battery even though the settings were saying van and leisure battery so I ran two cable underneath to the leisure battery behind the drivers seat I upgraded the solar regulator to an epeever dual racer added another 100 watt panel and an inverter so all’s well now works a treat officially no more room on the roof
