Smelly underwear, dirty T shirts, sweaty bra's & all that.

Use a toilet plunger, but not one that has been used down the toilet. Put water and liquid into the drum and use the plunger to agitate your clothes. This involves a bit of work, not much and is best done outside or with a lid on your bucket. It works the same way a washing machine works only faster since you are controlling the speed.
Campervanannie reminded me of these, as they were in use by millions of women for years, they probably work ! http://www.parkfieldict.co.uk/infant/victorianobjects/dolly.jpg it's called a washing dolly, and easy enough to make

Just put the clothes in the bucket with water and detergent at night and wait till morning agitate a bit not that much then rinse then dry. Generations of sailors can't be wrong.

Doesn't that make your clothes smell fusty and make the inside of your van damp? I suppose you could place the bucket overnight in the shower with a skylight open to stop the inside of the van getting damp, assuming your van has a shower cubicle.

Years ago when kids were little I bought a concrete mixing barrel, it's about 20 Ltrs in size has a screw lid and flutes inside, throw the clothes in with a kettle of hot water and some detergent stick on the lid, and roll across the campsite 50 yards slightly soiled and if the kids get really dirty get them to push it around all afternoon, undo the lid squeeze out the water from clothes empty the barrel refill with about five Ltrs clean water and roll to rinse, it kept the kids amused for ages and we even had other people's kids doing our washing.
Unfortunately I used mine for concrete and have never replaced but will when I go full time, still available from the states on tinternet.andy, you can also use it for storing dirty laundry until you get time to do it.

It does not make theclothesin any way unpleasant and you can leave them under the van though the toilet would do fine thats usually where we left the buckets in grey war canoes.
