Slowwwwwwwwwww cooker

Had it delivered to work so probably arrived on Friday, I just picked it up today. Will report on the results.

YIPPEE!! My Wonderbag arrived minutes ago, with the most horrible black looks and grumpy mutterings from my BH!! So hopefully I shall be able to stew my way through Wales now, with a lovely one pot meal waiting at the end of each day's travel.

Is this correct?

240volt 120watt slow cooker, so I reccon this uses 10 amps.

getting back to the original question - that doesn't sound right. A kilowatt is approx 4amps, so you divide watts by volts to get 0.5 amps.

Yes right, but I'll be using it with 1000 watt inverter from my 12volt batteries,

I've divided 120 watt by 12 volts to give 10amps, Is this not correct.

Moving back to the Wonderbag - sorry, gdf!! I am just trying out my first meal in it! Still can't quite believe that about 6 pm I shall have a delicious fish stew; have a horrible feeling it will be half-raw fish and lukewarm tinned tomatoes. :scared:

Wonderbag test!!

Well, it wasn't RAW, but it was lukewarm!! I think that was because the dish was too big for the contents, as they say to use one that is practically full. It tasted fine, - once I had warmed it up, so I will try again soon with a smaller dish!! :p

Good luck, Drew!!

Allow a bit for inverter inefficiencies prob about 11-12 Amps at 12v, fine if you use it while you're driving otherwise think of the length a battery lasts if you leave all your lights on main beam.

A kilowatt at 240v = 4A

A Kilowatt at 12v = 84A

Watts/Voltage

If you're using big inverters from your leisure batts then don't use "Leisure" batts use starter or dual use batts otherwise the plates will buckle

Remember a microwave oven is rated at the power output of the magnetron (microwave generating device) the total power can be double that

And wandering totally OFF subject again, Drew, the WONDERBAG really DOES work!! But you MUST have whatever you are using for a casserole dish full almost to the top, otherwise it will be cooked but lukewarm!!! I am using the bottom half of a steamer, with foil over the glass lid, and keeping the lid in place with a bungee strap when we are travelling. BH loves the results; a full pot gives us 2 days meals; one straight out of the pot and the other warmed up on a ring the next day. It's great, sitting there, doing whatever you want to do, and knowing that your meal is just getting on with it, and not using any fuel, apart from what was used to start it off. IDEAL for Wildcamping!!!

We have used our 120watt slow cooker twice in the last 2 weeks and it's cooked the meals beautifully.

John.
