singles meets

I am looking at getting this first meet together in the Thetford forest area. I shall be home there in two weeks and will go round a few places and see where we cam camp.
There is a pub in Brandon which is central and opposite a micro brewery where they welcome visiting groups. The St eorge distillery is not far away and also dose tours / tastings.
However I do need peoples best dates. I personally would be looking at end August beginning Sept???
Please PM me

I am realy having problems getting a venue for this meet. HELP! The pub I had in mind has decided that it is going to operate its feild as a camp site during the summer so charges apply. It was in fact full today with caravans and tents. Then the first week inSeptember the field is taken over by the regatter committee:boat:. after that the fair. It's never ending. :blah:
The station car park is also out of bounds untill further notice due to The rail company using it as a work base for upgrading the lines etc.,
Santon Downham site is now a not very nice place as it is well used by doggers etc.,

I have aproached the Brandon Country Park who are interested but it must go before the various councils who run the place. (3 Councils in all) That will take 6 months. But the manageress did say she was interested in the idea of putting in a couple of motor home bays, maybe in the orchard. so maybe we have started something there. Keep your fingers crossed.
Anyone got any ideas for a venue????

A completely different area - how about the Royal Forest of Dean (Gloucestershire) where wilding is easy, quiet and has plenty of space?

Taken on board. Will wait for other suggestions as the intention was East of England, sort of. I would have a problem organising one so far away from my home. I need to be near here for a while because I am undergoing Radium treastment at Addenbrookes.
Anyone in East Anglia got any ideas?
It was suggested to me to use the Angel at Larling and although this is a fantastic camp site and eatery etc and next to the English distillery it is sooooo expensive. £15 per night.

I have not tried it but it looked good when I stopped there a year ago. Large car park for nature reserve heathland on a road called the Doit. It's common land so far as I know. When I looked at the board it didn't specifically say no overnighting as I remember. Similar to the Forest of Dean, if you are in and out within a couple of days I don't think there will be an issue.

This looks like a very promising location - quiet, relatively isolated and a little out of the way.

Yes looks good at Wortham, if not too many of us. Like any other wilding location I think only suitable for a few vans and I don't know it all. So I can't guarantee the local busybody won't be hovering but if we've "just arrived" and are "soon ready to go" and leave a nice clean patch I can't imagine there will be too much hassle.

If you want to be closer to the pub and chippie you could try Cliff Parade, Hunstanton.
