Silver Screens

Hi ,Can anyone suggest where I can get external silver screens for my compact Frankia A class please. I've tried Taylormade and J&M Silver screens but they don't do them.

Thanks, Sue

FWIW; I used a large sheet of Bubble wrap to put over my screen & side windows for last winter & it worked really well. It won't act as a black out unless you add something to block out the light, but it was cheap (err, free actually, as it came as packaging on a telly) & easy to do. It save me using my genuine silver screens over winter which could well have damaged them. The wrap was undamaged & has been stored for use next winter.

Place it across the windscreen & open the doors, tuck a large triangular dart behind the pillars so that the rest of the wrap goes straight across the side windows & there is a few inches to tuck round the edge of the door & then shut the door. You may also need to cut a slit up from the bottom to accommodate the wing mirrors.

A bit of black poly sheet & some duct tape could produce a "Black Screen" that would be as good as the real thing but 100 squid cheaper! Just a thought for the financially challenged campers.

I had the same problem finding a screen cover for my Euramobil, drawing a blank with both Taylormade and Silverscreens.

Then I contacted Van Comfort, who make Polar screen covers.
I went down to there factory yesterday (by appointment) and had a screen cover custom made in less than 3 hours. I wasnt cheap, but with the response from the other two companies a resounding "no" i was limited.
We considered trying to make one ourselves, but after seeing the guys from Van Comfort struggling with the 3d curves on the front of our van, I'm glad we didnt. I'm pleased with the end result and will take some pictures this weekend when weve fitted it.

We got silverscreen for our campervan, relatively cheaply (£50) but they look really easy to make .
Not worth the fuss for £50 but if you cant find ones to fit ,might be an idea ?

Thank you very much guys for your suggestions, I'll take a look at the links you've provided. I was beginning to think of trying to make a template and try making some myself, as Taylormade can supply all the stuff needed, but I'm not that good a seamstress.

Sue :)

Buy one that's similar,at

We had the same problem with our Pilote A class and in the end bought from eBay a secondhand A class Hymer screen which was just a little bit short on one side. We bought another cheap secondhand fiat low profile screen and cut a bit off it which we sewed onto the Hymer one. The extra bit we use to cover the bonnet. We've been down to minus 15 degrees and all was fine.
