Silver Screens by J&M Designs

I have had a very poor fitting thermal screen cover since I purchased my motorhome 4 years ago. I have only used it once when it snowed whilst staying at Castlerigg Hall in the Lake district, it flapped about and snow got under it (useless) I'm spending two separate fortnights in the Lake district between now and December and thought I would try fitting this cover again whilst under no pressure from the elements but it still fit like a pair of wet woollen swimming trunks.
I called J&M Designs 9.30 am yesterday with a view of buying an original Silver Screen cover, I had chat with a very nice lady who asked me a few questions about my motorhome make model etc. I asked her about the heater vent covers and she said they come free of charge with this Silver Screen cover and went on to say the centre of this cover can open to let light in if needed, I asked the price? (£159.00) I then paid by debit card and said goodbye!
I thought to myself that £159.00 is a lot of money and hope it's worth it! The screen cover arrived at 9am this morning (less than 24hrs) I was very impressed at that alone! and as the weather was warm and dry I decided to try the cover out straight away, it fits like a glove and the quality is superb, I needn't have worried and I can say it's money well spent!:dance::dance::dance:

A fantastic service! Thank you .....

I`ve had 3 off them now and i`m more than willing to recommend them.

Yes they are a bit expensive but they do exactly what they are supposed to and more.

There`s lots of cheap versions out there but if they don`t work then they are a waste of money.

ive never had any even from them but just looked on thier site, its good that it says ou can use them on the inside that way if your wildcamping and need to get off quick you can without leaving the vehicle very handy that

I also have a set of these external screens and the were a god send this summer helping keep my van cooler, and work well in the winter, I use a set of internal screens with the suckers on them along with the external screen when it gets real cold.

Squibby.

The tempory use noted on the web page is a new addition to there web page as I was not aware of this tempory fitting and will be trying it this weekend.

Squibby.

Silver Screens

As well as the heavy Duty thermal insulated screens which are a bit bulky for use in a PVC van we have a set of the lighter weight Solar Screens which roll quite small these stay in the van all the time and are useful in summer. The Dimension has a Fiamma Window Blind fitted by Romahome that just lifts up and clips to the sunblind so we don't use them too often now only when the side windows require covering.
J & M used to do exchanges as well if you changed your van

I have internals and, although a good fit, really bad for condensation.

I need to take a picture and send to this company, to see what they can do for me, there are only eight small stud like device, which I assume is for attaching external screen, however, I have very large mirrors, wonder if these can be got around??

for the winter i turn ours round.... silver inside in .. it cuts down the condensation more than using silver side out ....give it a try and when the sun hits it ...it radiates heat into the van
we only use ours for privacy
would prefer them fold out pleated ones like what them posh people have in theyre flash coachbuilds ....but as we are in the cheap seats we have a pvc and internals that leave sucker marks on me clean screen
pros n cons eh

i think thats how they re supposed to be used ...read this on a website selling them ..but cannot find to send link
reflecrting heat back into van in winter by reversing them and reflecting heat back from van in summer the other way .....probably totally wrong but i can see the principal i suppose ..i truly do believe this works tho or just coincidence lol

I had a set of silver screens and returned them as unfit for purpose as they where a terrible fit very thin and wind blew under them moving them had to get out in the night and take them off. A previous set I had on another van where great heavier material which silver screens said they can no longer source. I then bought a set from Taylor Made and they are excellent just like the original silver screens
