The Seitz S4 sliding window in my Autotrail Apache has sprung a leak. I have traced this to the upper "water runoff slot", allowing a trickle of water down the inside of the window. On the Seitz website, the S4 doesn't have an upper slot, only a lower one. I have both on mine. Does anyone know if I can just block this off with a sealant. The slots for the water runoff are on the top edge on this upper slot which seems a bit strange as the one on the bottom has the slots on the base which looks obvious.

almost sounds like it was designed to go either way up ,so could be used either side. if so try just electrician's tape over the holes and see what happens

Hi Namder
Sorry not much help with the sealant. I'm just intrigued. Just brought a Apache and getting used to it but I don't recall a sliding window :rolleyes2:
Did i miss a important part of my MH???? Were is it?
Note: Mine is a Apache 700 / 2003 Model It probably doesn't have it

I had a similar problem with my Chieftain.
The rain was getting behind the top of the window frame/van wall and finding it's way to the inside.
I applied a fine bead of CT1 (white) to the top and sides of the frame.
No problems since.

Already done that, but thanks.

Mine is an Apache 725SE 2010 and has two sliding windows, one in the lounge and one in the kitchen.

it must be that then! They only put sliding windows on the newer models.

Got me worried there for a moment
phwewwwwwwwww

I have solved the problem, no thanks to Dometic/Seitz. According to one of their agents, the upper water runoff slots on the upper frame should point downwards. They prise out and I have turned them upside down and tested with my trusty hosepipe. No leak detected.
