Annoyingly I scraped the rear offside of the van last night getting onto a campsite in Derbyshire (great little little site - Duke William, Matlock but be warned and approach with caution if you have a large overhang). It's not a lot of damage and I'm confident that I could repair it relatively easily with a bit of plastic padding but how would I match the Elddis white paint? Alternatively I could get one of these mobile repair companies out. Can anyone recommend one please?

thanks
Ian

with that sort of damage take it to a coachbuilders and get a professional job done and they will match the paint. A couple of quid bodge job compared to a professional one you wont see.

I have had to have both sides done once with a car that hit me and once with an argument with a fence post now none except me knows

If you are near to Cheshire (Sandbach) I can recommend Motorstyle. Mobile no 07791 650591 - Marshall or 07950 030006 - Jason. I managed to catch my bumper in small village that TomTom had taken me down in Spain. They do a great job and matched the paint up seamlessly. They take cash only but are very reasonable.

... and a few thousand others, now, oops :scared:

Chrz Mul.

p.s. however, I'd be interested in seeing the repair as we have something similar but not nearly as bad (more of a wee crack with a bit of cracked glazing), and we don't want anyone else to know either, doh !

Didnae think of that!!!

I think I posted a link to the coachbuilders I have used in Rutherglen in the motorhome services section...They do a lot of work on motorhomes as when I have been there (twice) there were a couple of other ones in as well.

this was the first damage a couple of years ago before and after

Anyone got any idea what I should be paying for a professional repair? I'm hoping it's not going to be an insurance claim.

Well my last ding was worse than yours and also bent my towbar..so had that straightened and a full repair and some paint bubbling repaired on my door for 300 cash so I would think a couple of hundred would do it as it is not hard job for a professional.

I wouldnt go down insurance claim as it will bump you premium up and be on your record...get a couple of quotes. Look up yellow pages for a coachbuilders near you

The Bumper needs removing ,reglassing on the inside , repairing and refinishing outside ,mostly labour cost .around £300 ish

Matching paint colour

Any supplier of car paints should be able to match the colour without any problem and supply the paint in an aerosol.

Opppppps

We got the Swift sorted when the Jag hit us at S & L Automotive. They also sorted the back corner similar to yours. They can stitch the bits together and then spray it the same colour.

Update

Just to let you know that 'Caravan Medic' has come in with the best price to repair at £250. Quite happy with that.

When you hear that crunch you're almost afraid to look.

When I pranged the back of mine I sent an e mail to caravan medic at Leicester didn't even get a reply must have scared them off , took it to Doyles in Thurmaston made a smashing job could have had it done for £400 chose to have the whole back end sprayed to make sure of the match £450 well happy, this included not only the crack but also both of the bottom corners at the back which had been damaged previously,

Repaired

Apparently there are 2 Caravan Medics in the Leicester area. The one I used was Tony on 07957 598179. Yes it took a while to get in because he's a one man band but he's a lovely chap, very reasonable price and a first class 'invisible mend' repair job. Thoroughly recommended.
