Saving fuel, a myth! see results.

Hi maingate,

Is that with petrol or Diesel? a bit like the old Red X Day I still have a bottle of it.

Snowbirds.

I have never owned a petrol fuelled car for donkeys years, so yes diesel.

I used to add Redex diesel treatment. Did you know that Wilkinson (Wilkos) used to sell it cheap?

Nowadays I buy cheap semi-synthetic 2 stroke engine oil instead and add it now and again.

Hi Snowbirds,
Glad you are doing so well with the fuel.
A friend told me when he collected diesel fuel.
Their shell tankers were filled from another tank at the depot. With a different key.
and had better additives in them to give a better MPG. plus cleaner fuel.
He would only buy high quality fuel, and said with the better MPG, it paid him to.

I have a Speedhawk engine tuner fitted. Which has served me well for the last few years.
Changed it several times myself, keeping the setting on standard 5.
Pleased I can change it as and whent from 2300cc, 2800cc, and 3000cc, with no probs.
But I did read that when you have an engine system tuned.
Forget the MPG, readings, as the always read up a bit.
A true test is with a tank full, and milage check.
Thats probably why mine read 39 MPG, with a three litre tag axel? once.

Bout time you stopped galavanting, and came to a meet?
Hope I'll catch you sometime in the new year.
Rgd's Graham.

There's a quick and easy fuel saving modification that you can do without buying any fancy gizmo and with no tools required. Just slide the drivers' seat back an inch, then you can't press the throttle pedal down so far! :)

Or the clutch...:rolleyes2:;):drive:

Or the steering wheel ........... OMG :drive::danger::danger:

:goodnight: VIENNA

Tut Tut..... You people have no sense of adventure!! :scared:

(Scampa would like to stress that he can take no responsibility for the actions of anyone who takes his suggestion seriously!!) :)

Regular oil changes and maintenance may also have contributed
"doesn't Procrastinate" work's here though.

Procrastination does save money sometimes. I had a basic rideon lawn mower for 20 years - cut at least an acre of grass every week. Always started and never missed a beat - and never had an oil change in all of that time.

Sold it and it is still going 5 years later - although I think it may have had an oil change since then.
