There was a post not too long ago about a good cheap satnav circa £50.
Can somebody point me to it please.
Not a garmin or tomtom or nozatech ?

7 inch truck ones on ebay, some on here have them and swear by them.
I swore at mine, twice it took me miles off route in France because of some software glitch. Updating them is a time consuming job - if you can find the latest software update!
I now use TomTom and Garmin.

Thanks all.....I will go for a cheapo of needed. My TomTom has served is well for 10 years. The windscreen suction mount has disintegrated.
Will first of all look for a phone clamp to use for now.....We shall see ?

Have a look at this guys add and read the page below.

I'm trusting you guys. Been getting v confused as to what to buy, and just had white knuckle rides down Devon lanes in our lifetime's dream Pegasso 590. Just ordered one :D

All the information you will need to know about these sat nav's can be found here.

Very useful replies.
My first satnav was a tomtom go.18 years ago. The battery failed on that so 11 years ago I got a TomTom Start25. A car gps rather than truck.
It has served is well. Given the suction mount is now u/s I will look for a phone mount to continue using it. Backup plans being my phone and maps.me or a new cheapo.
So a phone mount first either for tomtom or phone !

Have you a photo of the TomTom mount? I also have a TomTom XL from ~2007 which works fine, but is no longer updatable. However it does have a pefectly servicable Suction Mount (got North American maps for it as well ;) bought the maps for when I went to DC but ended up renting a car with a Sat Nav, so double-whammy :) )

Replaced an old TomTom with a new TomTom about a year ago. Piece of junk, last time I'm buying a satnav, although I said that before. 😂

Works fine as a sat nav, but just so slow to input info. Must have the hardware of a Commadore 64 and older software.

The Waze app seems to be by far the most popular by people who drive (cars) for a living. Plenty to choose from though.

I tried (and have) various Sat Navs, but always end up gravitating back to Garmin.
The rest are just also-rans for me (other people do of course have other opinions :) )
First Garmin had was the Vista in 2001.
Garmin are also made in china.

Thanks David,
It looks like Halfords but in store or similar outlets.
The local hardware odds/ends shop.
