Hi All,

I downloaded the POI file no problems even got the file working on google earth, but cant for the life of me figer out how to get the POI file to work with the Sat Nav built into my phone, I'm running Ovi maps on a Nokia N8. I have been told that you can put the POI's on manualy via the Ovi web site but is there a better way that anyone knows about?

I don't want to have to buy another Sat Nav as I can't see the point when the one on my phone works so well, and the last Sat Nav I had only lasted about two years before they stopped the map updates which is a rip off if you ask me and it kept telling me I was driving through feilds when the A1(M) was re-routed.

I have had a brief Google search to see if there are any tips on how to do this.

From what I've read you can load your own POI data into the phone, and they become 'Landmarks'.

However ... if you load a large number it slows the phone down and makes it pretty much unusable.

It doesn't look like it will cope at all with the 3,000 plus points in the download.

I'd recommend looking at getting a secondhand TomTom or Garmin ...

Poi

Well thans for the advice I will give the first option a go but I will only load the POI's that I want for the area I plan to travel around and see how I get on, is this slows the operating system down too much then I will have to look into getting another Sat Nav.
