Just got my renewal through as i asked for it early because we`ll be away when it`s due.

£325 all in including euro breakdown  and that`s £7 cheaper than it was last year :dance:

At that price i`m not even bothering ringing around so i renewed over the phone :dance::dance:

Oh happy days

Renewed mine 2 weeks ago with them. £34 cheaper than last year and as you say 365 euro cover included £286 fully comp. And again like you i didnt bother ringing around. I was quite happy:lol-053:

Nice 1  i get stung here because of my postcode ( PR1 ) :mad2: which they insist is the centre of Preston :rolleyes2:

They only go off the first 3 digits so the fact that i`m PR1 9** and over 2 miles out of Preston doesn`t count :mad2:

The daughters car insurance literally halved when she moved out and it was only a few miles but she went from PR1 to PR4.

Many many years back we had a ballot to see if people wanted a change of postcode, it was an overwhelminmg YES but nothing ever came of it

I'm with CaravanGuard (I know I am not allowed the C word) but no-one can beat them every year, insurance and breakdown for UK and abroad.
You cannot afford not to have breakdown cover when your vehicle has a potential of 4.5t.
I do wonder if Safeguard is the same company as caravanguard?

A few years back they would not even give me a quote because i have a " performance enhancing modification " as they put it :scared:

Air Suspension :hammer: the woman i was speaking to when trying to get a quote had never heard of it so i had to spell it for her.

She then put me on hold whilst she spoke to a manager then came back and said they couldn`t quote me because i`d modified my motorhome :rolleyes2:

The other insurance companies i phoned laughed when i told them what had happened :lol-049: :lol-049: :lol-049:

Been with Safeguard for years and their service has been first class.

Same here, top class service and every year the quote is competitive.

Got ours last month for £208 with Safeguard, but then I am an old git. 7 meter Chausson on a 2007 Ducato.

Yes I would agree safeguard are good been with them from day one but am I right in saying that if your van is ten years old they will not insure you ???????.?

I believe they will cover motorhomes up to 20 years old. A friend has a seventeen year old van insured with them.

Our vans now 12 years old and we're still insured with Safeguard. Think the breakdown part of it only covers vans up to 20 years old which would also indicate they still insure to that age at least.

When I bought my vehicle from Brownhills in Kirkham in 2010 part of the deal was a years free insurance with Safeguard. At renewal time renewed with them then the third year I was interrogated that would have put the KGB to shame and was eventually told their underwriters can't cover my vehicle at the address, may I point out that I haven't moved! So lost my business now with AIB and very happy!!

Mines 18 years old and they insured it.

I insured with Safegaurd for several years with my previous van, when I changed to a new one they wouldn't cover it so had to move elsewhere.

I insure with Safeguard and have been happy with their quotes and service. But one never knows how good an insurance company is until you claim. Someone drove into the back of me last week and damaged the rear panels on my Lunar Premier. Unlike a car you can't just replace the panel (that model of M/Home isn't made any longer) so when I reported the incident I explained that I didn't want to take the van anywhere that didn't specialise in bodywork repair but I needed someone who had some expertise with fibreglass. I was asked if I had anyone in mind and mentioned a bodywork repair centre close to me, I was advised to get a quote from them which I did and today an engineer from Safeguard came around, inspected the damage and authorised the repair.
So, Safeguard tick all the boxes for me too.

Hi Gordon,
Could have been worse, just bashed rear panels. Three days work, £760. Can't go anywhere at the moment anyway, wife is waiting for op on toenail - ouch!
