Safari Rooms

Hello, does anyone have any experience of safari rooms for motorhomes? Do they have to be specially made or can you buy them "one size fits all" so to speak.......

All you need is the height your awning is from the ground and the length of your awning, not cheap though :scared:

There are different poles on the omnistor ones for camper vans to motor homes. I've 2 sets and neither is for a campervan! They are heavy and rarely used. Last used mine at least 4 years ago.

We've had them and carried them about for miles and still never used them, but that's the way we travel, not much use in a layby. :wave:

I have a Fiamma Safari room which we use when we are on a campsite in Spain during the winter. It takes an hour or so to put up but gives us loads of extra room. We don't travel with it, we leave it in Spain because it takes up loads of room and weighs over 16kg. If you're looking for something light and portable have a look at the Lilliput windblockers, there was a thread a few days with the pros and cons of them. Personally I wouldn't travel with a safari room but they're great for long term stops.

Had a Fiamma safari room on a previous motorhome, when we bought the motorhome secondhand the safari room had never been used (still sealed bags) we used it twice, once just to see ow it went up and once in the Loire Valley, the rest of the time it was in the garage at home. been in there that long forgot all about it when we sold the motorhome so it's still there. We tend to move on every day or two so a waste of time putting it up and taking it down.

We have used safari room before. But much prefer the lillypad windblockers for lightness & quick to put up. We have them installed at the moment here in southern Spain. Taking them down in a day or 2 for moving on.

I got fiamma privacy room,absalute rubbish you have to buy so many poles and still looks awfull,plus fiamma does not honour the warrantee two parts frareyed after it being used only three times they say it is fair wear I cant imagine what it will be like after a bit more use
