Sadly Susan Shaw Cooper passed away on Saturday after a fight with the big C.
Susan drove a large RV with a great Dane called Phoebe. It was our pleasure to be friends with this lady who equally had a large personality.
Rest in peace Sue gone but never forgotten. Xxx

So sad to hear that such a brave lady lost a battle that she fought so well and with such grace I met her a few times and she was a lovely lady with a zest for life and adventure she will be missed by all who's lives she touched.

Oh that's such sad news. I only met Sue and Phoebe once - at one of the Severn Bore meets. As Annie said, such a spirited and adventurous lady... gracious too but with a wicked, twinkly sense of humour. I liked her a lot from just that one meeting. RIP Sue... it was a joy to meet you.

....a great tribute from you two...although I not know her she seems one to be respected. Maja

Although we only met a couple of times, she was the sort of person once met never forgotten.
She will be missed.

Thank you Penny for passing this sad news on. Sue was such a courageous lady, and enjoyed living her life aboard her RV, a delight to meet, so sorry to hear that her lovely life came to such a sad end. RIP Sue x

ISad news.
I never had the chance to meet Sue, but followed her writings. She was an interesting and eloquent woman, but at least she managed to make the most of her later years.

I never met her either but I remember her asking for help getting a vehicle to Limoges so I followed her blog which was very interesting, she seemed to be a lovely lady
RIP:(

Oh nooooo this is sad, It wasn't long ago I posted on the forum asking about Sue. She was a great inspiring lady and one I can honestly say I will never forget.
May she rest in peace ....

X

Very sad news indeed.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Sue but through her writing I knew her to be a very literate, lively lady possessed of admirable self-reliance and self-confidence.

Rest in peace, Sue. You will be greatly missed by all those whose lives you touched.

What a shame. I read all of her blog & loved the way she told such interesting tales. The places she took that great big van were amazing.

I only met Sue once, for lunch together in France. We had a very long lunch then backto her van then she drove me back to mine. We stayed in touch. I was talking to her via Messenger very recently. She said she was in a hospice, was appreciating the wonderful care but didn't expect to leave. She told me not to be sad for her, for she wasn't. All she asked was that I enjoy my travelling for her. RIP Sue. X

Now that's made me cry ....
