Route to Bolnuevo

Hi all,

We’re in Lormes in the Morvan for a few days and setting off on Tuesday toward Bolnuevo (Murcia) planning to arrive on 4th October. Our proposed route/stopovers is -
Moulins,
Lissac Sur Souze,
Preignan,
Pau,
Then either the Samport tunnel or the D934 over the Pyrenees to Pourtalet,
Huesca,
Carinena,
And onwards to Bolnuevo.

Anyone have any suggestions, better places to stop, places to see en route?

We enjoyed a couple of free Aires at castelion de la plana both on sea front. Great beach and interesting town

Can recommend a meander through Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, it's virtually empty even in high season. If you don't want to venture too far from your planned route you can still head south-west through the parc and follow the Dordogne down towards A20. A decent wonder through the area will easily add a few days to journey compared to sticking to main roads.

Jaca is very nice just after the tunnel on the Spanish side.

I was advised not to stop in Pau but I can't remember why. Labastide d'Armagnac is nice. The give away is the name and the Aire is a big field outside the old village. n43,97205. w0,18602.
