When parked level my main fresh water tank will not empty completely either however .................................

At home i have it parked on Milenco Quattro 2 levellers to aid water draining off the roof and this also allows the fresh water tank to drian completely as well

Mine has no drain on the clean water tank only way to get lower than what pump does is to stick hose in and suck out as much as possible

Ah, ok my has a drain on the rear of the tank outside but as i said to empty it completely i need to raise the front end.

You need to catch one of my savorys silent but deadly 2 of us in room and swmbo says is that you - you would think she'd know if she dropped something or not

No, but I’d have thought a good dose of bleach down the plug and done the basin overflow might resolve your problem. I can’t imagine the smell is from the water

It is the water - run some in a cup, it stinks!

I can relate to this seemingly odd phenomenon. I was once touring a hot country by motorbike, I stopped to get a bottle of water from my soft panniers and it smelt of sulphur. It had been close to the exhaust and the fumes had leeched through the plastic bottle.
So wondering what the OP's bathroom sink tap plastic water pipe routes next to? Possibly the exhaust of some appliance or even vehicle?

Would of thought if it had been parked up a while with waste left in it it could be the drain but if drained down and left open it shouldn't smell - Although i cant empty my clean water tank fully always an inch of water left in bottom of tank anyway

I live in the van when I'm at work so it's in use half the time for that. We're away in it at least once a month when our rotas align. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether it's left for a few hours while I'm sleeping between shifts or a few days between working "weeks"

How about adding coke, or at least sterilising solution, to the main water tank?

Did you know you can use household bleach to sterilise garden ponds, even with fish/wildlife in them?

I would try some of the above, leave the water tank overnight or for a day or so, then drain and flush through with hosepipe and re-fill.

We never use the water from the main tank in our old van for drinking.
Always have a stash of re-cycled (sterilised) plastic milk bottles filled with (tap) water on board.

The smell is most likely to be hydrogen sulphide (or sulfide). It is usually produced by bacteria growing in anaerobic (lack of oxygen) conditions. I am very surprised its in the water but if it were my motorhome I would be very carefully inspecting the whole water system and disinfecting as others have suggested. I certainly wouldn't drink the water!

This maybe a better product than household bleach which normally has scent added and is designed not to flush away easily https://tinyurl.com/yy4jh2jq or Puriclean which is designed for motorhome water systems although I've read that that Dometic only advise white vinegar as anything elese may harm their boilers

Milton will be effective and not as unpleasant as bleach plus is reasonably wallet friendly

Mine has inspection cap a lot of hassle to empty totally - but i dont drink direct from tap anyway

Dont envy the OP that could turn into a nightmare of a job and worst case scenario degraded pipes needing replacement

We still drink water straight from the tap in our 14 year old motorhome however, we have had it from new and i take a lot of time and care looking after it.

I`ve used 200g of Puriclean in it twice a year since new, just follow the instructions and it`s absolutely fine, we have no ill effects.

This tub does 2 doses and so it lasts a year and is not a lot of money ( although some will think it`s a fortune ) and i look on it as routine maintenance.
