Hi folks. Anyone have experience of having roof bars / a rack made? Think I've found a kit for mounting points for a Ducato, but not sure what's best to use as the bars themselves.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Depends what you are wanting a roof rack for?
I installed the 'proper' fiamma Roof Rack on Annies Adria Twin Ducato. Used it as a base for installing a good sized solar array without relying on either adhesive or making extra holes in the roof.
Not a cheap option, but worked very well.
You have probably seen the kits for attaching things to the roof mounting points? probably just my own personal risk averse approach, but I am wary about those solutions that rely on those points as the primary securing and weight bearing point. I think they are designed as a locking point only and not a loading point - For example, the Fiamma rack uses them to lock the rack into place, but the actual rack rests on two loading points per lock point and is far more robust a setup.
In terms of bars, the most popular DIY method I think is probably Unistrut.
