Best replies will need a bit more info, what vehicle size /weight etc, international or just national for a start,
We only need national breakdown cover but have a 7.5 ton truck conversion, as we are caravan club members we take advantage of their Mayday breakdown service which is provided by Green Flag as by going through the caravan club there are no size or weight restrictions.

just a good cover for a small van 2.9ton

If your looking at RAC or AA watch the small print. Some have a length limit. I got mine last year on a smaller van but now i am apparently over. Luckily i took out cover where i can be in any vehicle rather than specific.

rac

Im with the rac arrival scheme which covers mh and caravans etc with no limits, but you have to be in the caravan and camping club to join.

Aye. I was chatting to a woman on facebook who had alerted me to the limits and said about the Arrival scheme. I am up for renewal before i go this year so look into it more then. What is CC club membership cost?

You never know which will be the best breakdown until you need them, in my case we have used a lot of different ones but only once neeeded assistance. We were with Saga when we broke down in France on our second day there, they had a helpline who were English or English speakers & I can't fault them for the help we recieved, we had difficulty with both the garages they tried to get out van fixed & in the end agreed to my request to be repatriated back to the UK. We were taken by taxi to the ferry & had a hire car waiting for us at Dover, we could have chosen to be flown back but decided it better for us not to. It took a couple of weeks to get the van back but it was locked in a secure compound, our van was a 7.4 metre Reapido A class weighing 3850 kgs. Interesting to see when it was being moved, we have a Roadhawk dashcam which comes on when the ignition was on which recorded the video & location.

Caravan Club Membership is £49 a year. Camping & Caravanning Club membership is £43 a year if you want to get the paper copy of the mag and sites book - £37 a year if you want to do everything online. Camping and Caravanning club have the RAC arrival scheme. Caravan Club have the Green Flag Mayday scheme.

were with rac on a policy that covers the wife and i and our two uni age kids in any vehicle. inc my 2.8 tonne lwb transit .
were all covered in uk with recovery even if just a passenger in the vehicle.

over the years ive looked at other providers but found theyve got size and/or vehicle age limits which come into play

Just tried to join ADAC breakdown assistance and the website will not accept our address here in France and also insists on a German address and a German bank account. Any comments please as clearly there a UK customers here on the forum?

Having done recovery myself for around 10 years I still have a good amount of people that I can call on when I get asked to do a recovery DESPITE having sold my truck and "retired".
I am on a few forums and see plenty of people that get caught out without breakdown cover or they need a truck shifted from A to B.
So I came up with this as something to do. Just an idea and so far i've helped get prices for transportation in UK and also to Spain and Lithuania.
Any size vehicle, anywhere....I can find someone that can shift it as a return load or a specific job.
This is my Facebook page....not really pushing it too much BUT if anyone needs a quote for a job...try me.
