Hi all, finally got around to fitting a reversing camera to my MH, wired it up and tried it on my leisure battery connections and it works fine. But when I tried to wire it into the rear light cluster it doesn't, I could tap into the reversing light but I would like a permanent feed as it has a night vision option that I think will be useful for added security. My batteries are under my front seats and I could wire it to these but I always thought I should be able to pick up a feed from the rear cluster. Any advice as to what I am doing wrong please.

There will only be a feed to the rear lights when the lights are switched on ...

Similarly, there will only be a feed to the reversing light or lights when reverse gear is selected.

That circuit is indeed the one you need to connect the camera to, and of course it will still work at night :)

If you want the camera to be switched on permanently at night, you will have to run a cable the length of the vehicle from a permanently live connection at the front, or from the leisure battery. You will need to put a switch in that circuit to prevent unnecessarily draining the battery.

Thanks Canalsman that makes sense can't wait to get it set up, hate not being able to see properly ever since I tapped an extremely tall lampost in Antwerp.

Just thought I'd add that reversing cameras are well worth fitting, especially when there are kids or pets around. They don't have to cost a fortune either. I bought one a few months ago and haven't looked back since!
