Hi all,
About 18 months ago I had a refurbished Calira 38/20 charger/PDU unit fitted to my 2008 Lunar H592 Motorhome by A&N services in N Wales. Combined with a new Bosch silver battery I've had no problems since. Calira haven't made this unit for some time and now they have stopped refurbishing units as well. A&N no longer offer replacements as they have no stock left so I asked Allen if he could replace my charger/PDU unit with one from another manufacturer in the event of my Calira unit failing in the future (which I have no doubt it will). Unfortunately he's not prepared to take on a major re-wiring job on this scale.
So, short of taking a £20k plus van down to the tip when the Calira unit inevitably dies, does anyone have any suggestions as to who might replace the charging unit.
I appreciate it's not just a matter of swapping out the wiring at the rear and fitting another unit (elektroblock, reich etc..) and probably more like rewiring a house, albeit a small one. On wheels. But with less floors.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Pat

Can't see why it would have to be a major rewire unless I'm missing something, there must be similar units about or even separate charger, consumer unit and fuse block, at the end of the day the wires are all there they just need transferring .

charger

hi
i have been looking for a new inverter on ebay. there is a inverter which
has a battery charger in it as well. it is for off grid use so when solar panel
or mains is connected it automaticaly charges the battery. the one i was
looking at was pure sine wave so it needs a pure sine wave generator to
charge it if you use a genny. the charger is 20 amp the inverter 1000a continues
i dont know anything about them yet as i have not purchased it yet.
someone on here might know more.
