Removing crossmember above front cab

Hi
I’m wondering if it’s possible to remove the parcel support beam / crossmember that sits above the cab of a Fiat Ducato to make access to the front seats easier ?
This would be providing it does not have an impact either for the structure, safety or MOT.
It makes no mention of this in the “converters manual” , as far as I can see, one way or the other.
Several makes (Dreamer, Adria and Pilote) all have this removed.

If you watch some of the motorhome crash tests, the doors fold in without that bracing in place. I suspect the side impact protection would be compromised too.
That said I'm sure you are not planning on crashing?
