That is a good idea Sue, I will not get your name wrong nowThat's why I keep my forum name simple.
Oi big nose why am I left out ?My memory gets worse every year!
I hope I know some of you enough by now to hope you won't be offended by the following....
We started keeping lists of names as reminders from way back when.
Now I have to say that Neil is even worse than I am at remembering names, and the "who's who" problem of matching forum names with real names.
I've just asked him to print out the latest list of 'names' (no, not Lloyds' Names!) as a reminder to take in the van with us (saves a bit of embarrassment!)
I'm dropping him in it here, but these were a few of his own 'personal' reminders noted alongside the names....
Maingate - Jim, looks like Ringo Starr
Dave and Mary - Chirpy Southerners
A Nutter - Anita, Blonde Scrabble Player
Bigusdickus - Richard, good on blues guitar
2cv - Bill and Susie - has Pass the Bomb and Bananagram games!
Campervanannie - Annie, Gobby Pyromaniac
LeeLinda - Lee, V. tall guy (6'8") & Linda, short blonde plump wife (editor's note: he's a dead man now I've disclosed this!!![]()
)
MeDuck - p*sses in a bottle, loses van keys
Minisorella - Jennie, tall, slim, very white teeth
Tompa - Jim & Carol - has newts and a skinny dog
Wildebus - David, looks like John Thaw, has Escape from Colditz game, speciality: the history of Airfix
I daren't go on..... !
Just wondering - anybody else have a bad memory and a similar system for remembering people and names?![]()
Izwazral strange taste in pants
Yes, I used to be a teacher and did that in my own register of the children in my class. My friend?who was a deputy head kindly brought it up at a meeting. The rotter. I always do it on holiday, we’ve been on a couple of coach trips and it makes a big difference and really takes people aback if you know all their names. My memory gets worse every year!
