Hi Phil,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all you have done, I have only owned a MH for 1 year but have gleamed many years of tips and advice from the website, I could have had a moan but I realised the info and forums were excellent so after the recent changes I immediately became a Full member as I didn't want to lose the access and info I had used and read.
Cheers
Dave

Here here

I think these guys and gals do a great job , some people just need to realize that the people involved in making this forum , don't really have to , at any point they could say enough is enough. And I wouldn't blame them at all, I have been there. I was chairman of the kent group mcc motorcaravanners club for a couple of years. Didn't have to do just liked to put a little back In. But same again same old people moaning about this and that rallies to exspensive at 10 a night, field no where near shops, no entertainment , these people never help out . very rarely turn. But quick enough to moan , well all you moaners if you want change. Get of you arses and make the effort to do it your way and I'm sure the moaning wont stop, I'd like to say a big thank you to Phil and the gang for all your hard work ( which most of the time is greatly appreciated) steve

Hence the reason why i stopped arranging meets, when you are dealing with so many people you are going to get folk moaning, but it does do your head in after a bit, the problem with Phil is, he wants everybody to be happy and that's impossible, it aint gunna happen, and the more here posts how unhappy he is, he will get more moaning, this is my view,

To misquote Abraham Lincoln:
You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time.
I say to Phil: Take heart from the fact that many of the people take great satisfaction from this site all of the time (me included).

..

I just think life is far to short for moaning, you only get one shot at this if I don't like it I move away from it or do something different. I wouldn't sit there moaning at who ever if I chose to be there, that's it my point won't hear no more on this subject from me

In my view Phil and his team are doing an excellent job. I feel Forums are a place for information sharing, chat and constructive discussion. It is not a place to have a moan or bicker with other members. My advice to those that dont like whats happening is to quit and move to another forum. This is THE FUN & FRIENDLY MOTORHOME COMMUNITY

Hi Phil,

The phrase " Damned if you do and Damned if you don`t " springs to mind.

Illegitimi Non Carborundum

And for those who don`t know what that means........ Google it !

Regards.

Graham.

:idea-007: I think we should have special meet for all the moaners. What about here?

I noticed that Phil's 'moan' happened early hours of the morning - never a good time to voice an opinion. Tiredness and/or alcohol cloud sensible thought. Get more sleep Phil and stop worrying about ingrates and moaners.

To be fair to Phil, I don't think that anyone should see his comments as a "moan" in any way at all.

A small handful of us who were online in the early hours saw a comment from a member with extreme, personal and uncalled for abuse and criticism aimed at Phil and his admin team, as well as sweeping insults at some members in general. (this has now rightly been removed)

I'd guess that other things have been said or inferred at times "behind the scenes" that the majority of us are unaware of, and Phils' comments are a fair and measured response to much of this.

Everyone in admin should know that the vast majority of members views that appear on this site are fully in support of them. :):)

Don't worry Maingate, hardly anything was said about you that we didn't know already!

As for any other details, I'm afraid I can't remember a thing......

Happy Genes - Who has them and do we want them?

A recent report suggested that there were three types of people, ascertained by the happy genes they had in their DNA.
The most anyone can have is two and its made for life unfortunately, the categories are:

Happy Outlook - 2 Happy Genes (Mostly Women but some Men)
Positive Outlook - 1 Happy Gene (The majority of both sexes)
Poor Outlook - NO Happy Genes. (Glum, Pessimistic, Negative characteristics)

So a suggestion for discussion:
Should members provide a DNA assessment so we could ascertain how many of each type we have in the membership?

Then possibly specific site forums could be allotted for each Happy Gene type - that might make everyone happier as they are then catered for.
Also maybe Happy people could mentor the Not so Happy.

Cheers

I would be happy to smack a whingeing old git in the chops.

It would make my happy gene even happier. :lol-049:

Big problem is that some people have an excessively-active stupidity gene so that when other people with a double happiness gene come across them, they end up just as cranky as if they had no happiness gene at all.
